New Road Markings will cause serious accident!!!

Reported via mobile in the Worn out road markings category anonymously at 11:41, Wednesday 22 May 2024

Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS6006230.

There are new road markings on Sidcup Road, heading north, at the junction with Eltham Road (what3words: calls.clues.oven), with the left lane only going towards Lee (used to be the left two lanes), the middle lane is now for Kidbrooke Park Road, with the right lane for Eltham only. Drivers are not looking at the road markings and assume traffic will behave as it used to do - this is leading to near-accidents every single day, as those of us engaging our brains are using the middle lane to head north but nearly getting rammed by those who are still using the right lane… who then proceed to rage against us for “cutting in”. Please sort this out as a matter of urgency, as I have had to face road rage every day with my young child in the car. You cannot see the road markings when cars are on it. Use words like KID and ELT because most people won't know the road number. You all have been informed about this previously and have made no effort to rectify the matter.
