Traffic lights knocked over twice in two days

Reported via mobile in the Damage - pole leaning / equipment detached from pole/facing the wrong direction category anonymously at 06:47, Wednesday 29 May 2024

Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS6032402.

The traffic light on the junction of Sydenham Road and Mayow Road has been an issue for at least the last three years if not longer.

The light in the middle island gets knocked over and then replaced incredibly frequently leading to the conclusion that there is a fundamental problem with how the junction is set up.

Last Friday the traffic light was bent and broken after being hit by a car. It was replaced and by Sunday it was completely smashed again.

Without fixing the underlying problem this won’t change and the junction remains dangerous. The lights could cause a great deal of damage if they land on a person. Not to mention the waste of money, blindly replacing the lights time and time again.
