Narrow lanes

Reported via mobile in the Roadworks category anonymously at 10:28, Wed 26 June 2024

Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS6156317.

The lanes under the bridge are too narrow heading to the A3 round about direction. A huge motorcycle filtering in the other direction almost touched my side mirror and I warned him hooting this morning, luckily he didn't but should have heard my warning. This area under the bridge is busy and may I suggest that the bus-stops be moved to another area further up or down away being so close to the intersection and under the bridge. Also the lanes could have cat-eyes and lights to mark them otherwise it can be dark under the bridge and people get confused which lane is which...

  • Thank you for your enquiry regarding Battersea Park Road outside Battersea Park station.

Transport for London (TfL) is working on the Nine Elms active travel scheme (Nine Elms - Transport for London (tfl.gov.uk)), which aims to improve the road layout for all users, and incorporates this location. As part of the scheme we will relocate both bus stops from under the railway viaduct to a location closer to the Prince of Wales Drive junction where the footways and lane widths are wider.

We are working with the London Borough of Wandsworth to secure the necessary funding for the scheme. Once funding is secured, we will deliver the active travel benefits to the area.

    Many Thanks
