Insufficient Road signs on Burlington Lane

Reported via desktop in the Pavement Overcrowding category anonymously at 10:04, Monday 22 July 2024

Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS6259009.

Unlike many parts of the A316, the section of the A316 between Corney Road and Edensor Road is not shared use and there are mandatory cycle lanes in both directions. However despite this, cyclists increasingly cycle at speed down the pavement often within a metre or less of garden gates causing a real risk of injury to residents exiting their houses. This has now become a real and significant problem resulting in many near misses, minor collisions and altercations between cyclists and pedestrians/ residents. The signage informing cyclists that they are not allowed to cycle on the pavement on this part of the street is insufficient and needs significant improvement if further incidents and risk of injury are to be avoided.
