Bus Stop Antisemitic Graffiti
Reported via mobile in the Graffiti / Flyposting on stop or shelter (offensive) category anonymously at 13:48, Friday 26 July 2024
Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS6279843.
I noticed some antisemitic graffiti at this bus stop (Tottenham Police Station bus stop DA) while waiting for the 123 towards Ilford on Wednesday 24th July.
The graffiti appears to be written in black permanent marker, all appears to be written in the same handwriting and reads "FREE GAZA WEST BANK + SOUTH TOTTENHAM!!". This is an antisemitic dog whistle which conflates the Jewish community in South Tottenham to the actions of the Israeli government, which meets the following criteria of the IHRA definition of antisemitism: "Holding Jews collectively responsible for actions of the state of Israel."
Additionally this graffiti could be read as encouraging violence towards the local Jewish community of South Tottenham.
