Temporary pedestrian crossing not working

The temporary lights and Pedestrian crossing do not seem to be synced. A group of us were crossing when the pedestrian light was green, but traffic did not stop. Also at these roadworks

  • Also at these roadworks, there is a sign saying footpath closed, but there is actually a separate path for pedestrians that we didn't spot when we were walking up, so crossed twice unnecessarily. If this is here for any length of time can it be better signed?
