Roadworks at Cheam Road/St Dunstan's Hill crossroads

Reported via mobile in the Roadworks category anonymously at 10:08, Thursday 5 September 2024

Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS6438724.

These works (the second at these crossroads in 3 months) are going on for far too long, with little effort seeming to be put in by the contractors to finish in a timely fashion (there was no-one there at 9.15am yesterday and only a couple of men present at 12.30pm).. They are causing complete chaos and impacting significantly on journey times (it took me 45 minutes yesterday morning to drive from Cheam Village to Sutton, a distance of about a mile). What assessment has TfL made of the economic and environmental cost of this nonsense and what action is being taken to speed up the work's conclusion? Why is there no warning of the works until Park Road? Advance notice in The Broadway would enable one to use Upper Mulgrave Road as an alternative.
