Lights occasionally stuck on red

Reported via mobile in the Stuck on red category anonymously at 07:58, Saturday 7 September 2024

Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS6445690.

The right turn lights just missed four Light change cycles, even though there was a large number of cars waiting.

The waiting time for green was so long that cars turned into the left lane to go straight on and then come back the other way via the roundabout.

The lights did eventually turn green so I’m not sure if it’s a one off issue or whether this will repeat. Thought it might be worth reporting because it caused chaos just now and it’s only 7:45 am. It would be much worse during the day.

The problem this causes is that those that go into the left lane to go straight on create gaps which those in the left lane already heading to the roundabout to come back actually then turn into that gap but because the traffic isn’t moving that car gets stuck over the two lanes which completely blocks the left lane
