Dangerous crossing for pedestrians
Reported via mobile in the Safety concern (traffic or pedestrian) category anonymously at 11:42, Friday 20 September 2024
TfL ref: FMS6493790.
This junction at the south-end of Globe Rd is dangerous for pedestrians, as the traffic lights do not have a phase that blocks traffic coming from both Globe Rd and Mile End Rd at the same time. This is a busy crossing point for pedestrians, due to its situation on a busy shopping street, immediately outside of Stepney Green station, and near to QMUL buildings. I frequently witness near-misses as cars turn onto Globe Rd from Mile End Rd while people are crossing. I believe that a pelican crossing would remedy the situation.
