Dangerous crossing point

Reported via mobile in the Safety concern (traffic or pedestrian) category anonymously at 12:57, Friday 20 September 2024

Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS6494187.

I am having to resubmit this report as the response I got from TFL on the last one was false. TFL stated that there is a crossing here with a tone and a pedestrian phase. All of this is untrue. There is no pedestrian crossing at this point on Globe Rd.

Here is the original report: This junction at the south-end of Globe Rd is dangerous for pedestrians, as the traffic lights do not have a phase that blocks traffic coming from both Globe Rd and Mile End Rd at the same time. This is a busy crossing point for pedestrians, due to its situation on a busy shopping street, immediately outside of Stepney Green station, and near to QMUL buildings. I frequently witness near-misses as cars turn onto Globe Rd from Mile End Rd while people are crossing. I believe that a pelican crossing would remedy the situation.
