Very loud traffic lights

Reported via mobile in the General Fault category anonymously at 18:36, Thu 26 September 2024

Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS6520952.

Unfortunately the recently installed traffic light pedestrian crossing sound on these lights (outside of Buttermere House block of flats, KT2 7AB) is really loud and disturbs a highly residential area. It’s audible from inside our homes with windows closed, despite the very good sound insulation of the building - this is very impractical and very stressful, impacting work and relaxation time, as well as sleep when it goes off during the night. I suffer from anxiety and this noise causes me even more stress as it goes off quite often. Please could the sound be turned off as many traffic lights don’t have the sound and rely on the green/red lights showing or other forms of accessibile-friendly means like rotating cones for safe crossing of pedestrians. Many thanks!
