  • Thank you for contacting us regarding the signal timings at the Barking Road pedestrian crossing by Arragon Road.

The signal timings currently operate as designed, although there are some faulty traffic detectors associated with this crossing, which will be reported to our signal contractor. The crossing timings are designed so that the pedestrian wait time is restricted to a maximum value of 46 seconds from the moment the button is pushed. The length of the wait time increases up to a maximum of 46 seconds as traffic demand increases on Barking Road.

We believe that the current signal timing strategy is a reasonable balance between supporting traffic progression and minimising pedestrian wait times on a busy high street.

Please do not hesitate to contact us again if you experience any further issues.

State changed to: No further action
