Flooding A2 exit

Reported via desktop in the Standing water category anonymously at 10:21, Sunday 5 January 2025

Sent to TfL 11 hours, 12 minutes later. TfL ref: FMS6932638.

I would like to report a potentially dangerous situation on the A2 exit to Rochester, where heavy rainfall has caused water to pool on the road. This issue has been present for several years, and it poses a significant hazard to drivers, particularly those with low-clearance vehicles. The pooling water, combined with insufficient lighting, creates a risk for drivers traveling at speeds of 30-50mph. The water can cause hydroplaning, making it difficult to control vehicles, and in some cases, may lead to damage for cars not suited for such conditions.

I strongly recommend that this issue be addressed as soon as possible, either by improving drainage in the area, installing better lighting, or adding warning signs to alert drivers of the hazard. This would help ensure the safety of all motorists using this exit.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to seeing the necessary steps taken to resolve this safety concern.
