No crossings for pedestrians - danger caused by tfl
Reported via desktop in the Safety concern (traffic or pedestrian) category anonymously at 10:47, Monday 3 February 2025
Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS7076694.
I understand the ulez cameras have been vandalised, which has put the signals out, however: your traffic management closes all of the pedestrian crossing points with orange barriers and "crossing closed" signs. So where are people supposed to cross? These crossing points are still the best and safest places for children and the elderley to use so why barrier them off - do you expect people to talk 200 meters or walk on the grass/ in the road? Tfl are causing this hazard. Also, you know that putting these ulez cameras on the signals will likely cause vandalism that put the lights out, causing safety issues. It has happened several times now. Theefore, you should move the ulez elsewhere where the signals do not get targetted. Under the CDM regulations, Tfl has a legal duty to design and manage its installations with safety in mind. As you are aware of the issues here, Tfl become liable for any accidents of injuries that occur under breaches of CDM. I suggest you make changes or review and document your response to this, now you have been notified.
