Very long wait on ped crossing

Reported via mobile in the Safety concern (traffic or pedestrian) category anonymously at 09:48, Thursday 13 February 2025

Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS7128074.

The ped crossing here takes an incredibly long time to allow pedestrians to cross. It is heavily used, especially around school drop off and pick up times, and just this morning at one point there were at least 20 adults and children waiting to cross and the length of the green man meant children were still crossing on red. Before the Lea Bridge roundabout was altered this light would change very quickly but since the alteration it now leads to a swift build up of pedestrians which also blocks the pavement. The wesbound wait button also very often turns off without changing the crossing, leading to a much longer wait if it isn't noticed.
