Flooding on Highway near Springwell Road
Reported via desktop in the Standing water category anonymously at 11:24, Monday 24 February 2025
Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS7178893.
NOTE: This is not a duplicate report, as this is a flooding in a different location to my previously raised tickets. TfL and its contractors keep closing this repeat occurrence and claiming it is fixed. I have raised several tickets and nothing gets done. This is a known issue for several years. You questioned my integrity and honesty by closing this ticket every time I raised one without carrying out the appropriate actions. Hence you forced me to go out in the rain today to prove I am being honest with my reporting and I took this photographs this morning. Section 100 of the Highways Act 1980 clearly stipulates your responsibilities. The flooding causes high risk of accidents by cars swearing and also risk pedestrians, including cyclists, being hit by a wave of water and potentially causing an injury or accident. We need to stop playing these games and get this fixed. You have tax payer's money to fund the required repairs, whether it is unblocking the gullies, involving Thames Water or digging up the road to install new pipes. Please note, quoting this ticket number, I will be writing to the Commissioner of TfL to inform them of this several years of neglect and risk of safety in this location.
