Cycle lane closed with no signage or diversion

Reported via desktop in the Roadworks category anonymously at 09:55, Wednesday 23 April 2025

Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS7468859.

The roadworks just south of where Holborn Viaduct crosses over Farringdon Street have obstructed the southbound cycle track (part of C6) in the morning peak for two mornings now. The obstruction consists of blue plastic barriers across the cycle track just south of the junction between Farringdon St and West Smithfield. There is no signage or warning of this obstruction. There is no provision for cyclists and no diversion. There are a large number of queueing vehicles due to temporary lights for these works, with cyclists apparently expected to filter into this traffic with no warning for cyclists or motorists. This is a dangerous (and I suspect illegal) situation and it needs rectifying immediately. I can't find the roadworks licence number online but it's the large works with the temporary cycle lane diversion on the southbound carriageway of Farringdon St (A201).
