Large pothole on A40 westbound towards Shepherd’s Bush, causing major hazard

Reported via mobile in the Pothole (major) category anonymously at 14:34, Monday 28 April 2025

Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS7493235.

There is a large pothole on the A40 westbound towards Shepherd’s Bush that caused serious damage to my vehicle. The impact triggered my car’s crash sensors and completely shut down the engine. The police and RAC attended the scene. RAC confirmed the damage was too serious to repair roadside and advised me to contact my insurer. The pothole is dangerous for all road users, especially at higher speeds on this stretch. Photos of the pothole are available.

Urgent repairs are needed to prevent further accidents and vehicle damage.
