Urgent Street Lighting Safety Hazard on A406 North Circular Road

Reported via mobile in the Street Light - Equipment damaged, pole leaning category anonymously at 09:17, Tuesday 29 April 2025

Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS7496632.

Multiple LED streetlights along the A406 North Circular Road are malfunctioning—either completely dark or dangerously flashing. The problem is extensive, with at least one flashing streetlight visible every 500 meters of this major route.

These unpredictable flashing lights create a serious safety hazard for all road users, as they distract drivers and could potentially cause accidents during evening and night time travel.

I have documented all faulty lighting units on my dashcam and can provide precise locations of each malfunctioning streetlight if needed to expedite repairs.

The widespread nature of these failures suggests a systemic issue with either the LED components or installation. Without immediate intervention, this problem will likely spread to additional lighting units along this busy route.

For public safety, these defective streetlights require urgent inspection and replacement. Please prioritise this maintenance request to prevent potential traffic accidents on this critical arterial road.
