Pedestrian cross requests keep timing out without stopping road traffic
Reported via desktop in the Pedestrian wait button not working category anonymously at 17:54, Saturday 14 June 2025
Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS7709935.
When the pedestrian button is pressed, the red light in the pedestrian box illuminates showing the request has been accepted. After a few minutes (yes minutes rather than 10s of seconds normally expected for a pedestrian crossing) the red light in the pedestrian box extinguishes but without stopping the road traffic with a red traffic signal. This would happen for a few cycles before the pedestrian box red light will be replaced with a green light and stops the road traffic. This seems to happen more often and for more cycles from the "Sehri Antep Baklave & Cake" side of the crossing. This was reported on ticket "FMS7239391" which was reported fixed, which doesn't seem to be the case. As reported earlier, this pedestrian cross is near a school for young people with special educational needs. Its' continued malfunction will cause these young people (and other people) to cross the busy road in unsafe manners. Hope this will be finally fixed properly this time.
