Tree been cut down

Reported via mobile in the Damage - general (Trees) category anonymously at 17:38, Thursday 26 June 2025

Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS7770052.

On daily walk to work just noticed that someone has cut the tree down which was on the pavement outside a new shop which is opening next to Toolstation 420 Upper Richmond Road SW14 7JX. It doesn't look like a professional has done it as it's a butchered job. The shop owners may have done this to give access to their parking. Don't think it's acceptable if they have done this as we need the trees. If they have a fine should be implemented or something. Please let me know your findings. Regards Karen

  • I have more pics if needed. The stump has now been removed and paved on but it does not address the root of the issue: this business did this unilaterally without permits! The tree wasn’t under the council list for felling. Also, I would like to know if they have permits to create these 4 parking spaces on a double red lined road. This was a healthy tree. I want to formally complain about this. Those of us who live here appreciated the shade, and the blocking of the noise. This was unsafe and inconsiderate. Furthermore, a new tree should be planted asap!!
