Overgrown verges
Reported via desktop in the Overgrown vegetation category by Paul Carter at 14:05, Wednesday 13 August 2025
Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS8020152.
Overgrown verges. Resident reporting severely overgrown vegetation along to A232, going over the railway line, close to the Nonsuch Walk. Caller often cycles on this road and has noticed that over the last few months / Year, the vegetation has got very overgrown with growth from verges causing sightline issues and tree vegetation hanging down. Caller says that the red line is covered which pushes cyclists into the centre of the road and is now quite dangerous. Can we please arrange inspection? Caller also wanted to know how often this is cut as he does not believe it has been cut within the last year at least.

I received this feedback today - can you explain when a problem does require immediate work - after someone has had an accident in this area due to the verges not being kept in a 'fit' state. As reported the red line is totally overgrown and this pushes cyclists towards the centre of the carriageway. We have visited the site and on closer inspection the problem does not need immediate work. We will continue to monitor and consider it when planning future works.
