Safety Concern – Traffic Light Issue at Poultry St / Threadneedle St Junction
Reported via mobile in the Safety concern (traffic or pedestrian) category anonymously at 23:44, Monday 18 August 2025
Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS8043563.
Hello,
I would like to report a potentially dangerous traffic light issue at the junction of Poultry Street and Threadneedle Street in the City of London, near Bank Station.
On several occasions, I have witnessed near-collisions because the lights for both Poultry Street and Threadneedle Street turn green at the same time. Cyclists coming from Threadneedle Street, attempting to cross towards Poultry Street, believe they have the right of way at the same time as vehicles and cyclists from Poultry Street heading towards Cornhill Street.
This overlap creates significant confusion and risk at the junction. I am concerned that without adjustment, this could lead to a serious accident.
Could you please look into this matter to ensure that the signals are properly sequenced and do not show green at the same time?
Thank you, Mihaela
