Comments: I just want to alert you to the fact that, after nine months of roadworks to improve the roundabout between London Road and Chertsey Road, the way the traffic lights are currently operating means that there is seemingly always (or, everytime I go through it on my drive home every weeknight), a line of cars that, due to red lights farther along the roundabout, are stopped most of the way through the road, blocking one or more lanes of cars coming from the other direction. I feel like simply staggering the lights, so that the initial lights turn red and then stay green for a longer farther along the roundabout, would help clear the lanes so that traffic would not be blocked and entire green-light durations wasted on the west/eastbound route on Chertsey, which is currently being consistently blocked by the southbound traffic on London Road. (This is hard to describe, I hope this makes sense!) But - after such a long period spent on improvement, for the traffic lights to be an instant issue that causes consistent frustration and blockages, feels like an oversight that you should take the time to fix.

Site: Location: The round about on Junction of Chertsey road and London road. Subject: Traffic congestion Description: I am writing to express my concern regarding the recently completed roundabout. After several months of roadworks, the project has now been finalised; however, the outcome is deeply unsatisfactory and is causing considerable disruption to local residents.
Since its completion, the roundabout has generated a persistent problem with vehicle horns sounding at every red light. I don't know whose idea was to keep cars around the actual roundabout that has a capacity of only one or two cars, while the dual carriageway of Chertsy was there!
This roundabout is equipped with 34 traffic lights! Being a project manager myself, I should say frankly that it doesn't smell good.
This design has created an unacceptable level of noise pollution, particularly during evenings and nights, and is severely affecting the quality of life for those living nearby. There are at least two families with disabled children, and there is a care home right next to the roundabout. The new road design confuses drivers, causing them to honk frequently.
I therefore respectfully request that the Council review the design and operation of this roundabout as a matter of urgency, with a view to reducing noise, improving traffic flow, and ensuring public funds are used responsibly. Apart from that, we have recently had an unusual level of racing motorcycle noise. The sound of racing motorcycles is low frequency and exceeds the permitted level of 85 dB, which can easily penetrate double-glazed windows and brick walls from hundreds of meters away, regardless of their quality.
I would be grateful if you could confirm receipt of this complaint and advise me on what actions will be taken to address these issues.
Yours faithfully, Saeed Delir
