Timings sequence on traffic lights wrong

Reported via mobile in the General Fault category anonymously at 22:52, Thursday 18 September 2025

Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS8185115.

For the past 4 to 5 months the timing sequence on 2 traffic lights have changed. This is causing terrible traffic on Barnet Bypass coming towards Apex Corner especially in evening peak hours. Everyday queues are over half the length of the road which was never the case before and sometimes even worse. Previously, the traffic lights at Apex corner would change green. This would allow cars to start clearing before the traffic lights at the end of Barnet Bypass turned green, allowing cars on Barnet Bypass to enter towards Apex Corner. However, for the past few months the sequence of turning green is the other way round. The lights turn green at the end of Barnet Bypass but as the lights at Apex corner are still red cars are already there. Also a yellow box means cars cannot even move forwards. This is causing terrible traffic and needs fixing fast. It needs changing to how it was previously. This is coming from someone using the same road to commute for over 15 years. It had never been this bad.
