Yellow box needed
Reported via mobile in the Safety concern (traffic or pedestrian) category anonymously at 12:36, Wednesday 24 September 2025
Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS8207861.
I am writing regarding a request for a yellow box to be placed at the traffic lights on Eastern Avenue at the junction with Beehive Lane. The reason for this is myself and others have numerous issues with using this junction especially in morning rush hour when trying to do school runs and commute to work. The traffic is generally heavy moving down Eastern Avenue towards Redbridge Roundabout. The traffic does not leave a gap and when the lights change there is no access to turn right from the traffic lights onto Beehive Lane and then the traffic will also be blocking those wishing to go straight over Eastern Avenue from one side of Beehive Lane to the other. This causes delays, frustration, and I have even witnessed accidents and road rage due to this. It causes a backlog of traffic on Beehive Lane, there are yellow boxes in very close proximity to where I am talking about and it is a simple solution to make morning rush traffic move more smoothly. No doubt the council would also issue a lot of yellow box fines if installed as 9/10 this happens every time I use this particular set of lights in morning rush hour from around 7:45am to 9am. I am happy to provide more information, photos and videos should you need. I think installing a yellow box at this specific location would very much improve traffic flow in this particular area.
