Missing temporary bus stop sign – drivers not stopping
Reported via mobile in the Damage - other (bus stops and shelters) category anonymously at 18:13, Tuesday 4 November 2025
Sent to TfL 13 hours, 54 minutes later. TfL ref: FMS8376788.
There is an ongoing issue at our local bus stop. After a recent crash, the original stop was covered with a yellow “Stop Closed” sign, and a temporary bus stop sign was placed about 5 metres before the old stop. However, the temporary freestanding sign was stolen shortly after installation, and now there is no visible stop sign for drivers to recognise.
As a result, buses are not stopping, even when passengers try to signal them. Some drivers have stopped out of courtesy, but most drive past because the yellow sign makes it appear the stop is closed.
When we called TfL, we were told the stop is still registered as “open” in the database — but on the ground, there’s no usable signage.
